SKBK#4

Simulating Texture and Getting Rid of Lines

SKBK#4.1 Reflections in charcoal: red clear pitcher

SKBK#4.2 Reflections in graphite:
An outside window and blinds reflected in
an inside window curtained on the opposite side.

SKBK#4.3 Reflections in graphite:
a metal bowl on a polished wood tabletop

SKBK#4.4 Rough texture object in charcoal:
olive tree and roots

SKBK#4.6 Rough texture in graphite:
Plastic dinosaur

 SKBK#4.5 Rough texture in graphite:
Stone lawn ornament lamb

Things I learned from this assignment:
  • I don't draw well when I am stressed or tired
  • I can get darker values with charcoal than graphite
Things I struggled with:
  • Still need a lot of practice on drawing forms
  • Still need a lot of practice drawing reflections and light
  • Drawing large

Things I feel good about:
  • I practiced a lot during spring break
  • I got the assignment completed and turned in with grace on deadlines.

  1. Enjoyed seeing these since you worked on them over the break. Reflections in the window is a solid sketch. Keep practicing on the rough textures.
